What we collect

Usage events (app only). Anonymous events such as “app opened”, “salon card opened” or “filter applied”, with the app version and language. They are tied to a random identifier created on your device, which is not linked to your name, email, phone number or the Apple advertising identifier. We use them only to understand which features are useful.

Photos you choose to send. A photo of a price board or of a salon, sent from a salon card. Before upload the photo is reduced and its metadata, including location, is removed. Please do not photograph people.

Corrections and reports. Prices, opening hours or other salon details you suggest, the reason and comment of a problem report, and, for salon owners, the contact details you enter so that we can confirm the change.

Area requests. When you tap “I want my area”, the approximate coordinates of the map centre.

Likes. Which salon was liked and the random identifier of your device or browser, so that one device counts once. Saved salons stay on your device only.

Technical data. Our servers see your IP address when you send something. We use it only to limit abuse (for example, how many photos one address may send per day) and keep these counters for no longer than two days.

What we do not collect

Your precise location. The app and the website use it only on your device to centre the map and show distances; it is never sent to us.

Contacts, photos you did not choose to send, payment details or account data.

Who processes the data

App submissions are stored with Supabase, our database and file hosting provider. Website submissions are stored on our own server in the Netherlands. We do not sell data or share it with advertisers.

Maps: the app uses Apple Maps; the website loads map tiles from OpenFreeMap, which receives your IP address like any web server. Directions and calls open Google Maps, Apple Maps, Grab, LINE, WhatsApp or your phone app, under their own policies.

How long we keep it

Rejected photos and duplicates are deleted within 30 days. Price board photos are kept for up to 90 days after review as evidence for the price. Approved salon photos are shown publicly in the app and on the website until the salon or we remove them.

Usage events are kept for up to 24 months. Corrections, reports and area requests are kept for up to 24 months; likes are kept while the salon is listed. Owner contact details are deleted as soon as the change is reviewed.

Your choices

You can deny location access; the map still works. Uninstalling the app stops all data collection.

To ask us to delete data linked to your device identifier, or to remove a photo you sent, write to us. We will explain how to find the identifier and answer within 30 days.

Children

The app and the website are not directed to children under 13 and do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
